A2 Motorcycle Licence
AM, A1, A2, A are all motorcycle licences & require the same tests, they are just taken on, and allow you to ride, different sized bikes. The courses all cost the same.
To gain any motorcycle licence you must have already completed your CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) & passed your Theory Test. (Both valid 2 years)
The A2 License is a restricted category motorcycle license which you can take from 19 years of age and the test must be taken on a machine of at least 395cc with a maximum power output of 35kw/46.6bhp.
Only certain bikes are considered suitable by the DVSA for training. Check with the DVSA before considering doing the training on your own bike. We would always recommend using one of our bikes.
Who’s it for
You need to be at least 19 years old for this licence.
For most young riders getting the A2 licence at 19 is the quickest and most cost effective way to progress to a full unrestricted motorbike licence.
Those that already know this is the maximum size of bike they ever want to ride.
Who doesn’t it suit
Those who already know they want to obtain a full unrestricted A licence, but their age and/or rider experience dictates it would be more cost efficient to take the DAS Direct Access Course aged 24 & over.

Luckily Honda has a wide selection of & some of the best performing A2 legal ready bikes, so just get in touch with any queries.
Using your Own Bike
If you wish to use your own bike you must have the following:
At this stage you’re not legally allowed to ride your own A2 bike on public roads, so you will need adequate transportation to get the bike to and from the training ground.
